Stanley Mission, the Church and the old abandon Mine site on the Churchill River

Well, the pic of the community was taken from the site at the church. The old church at it's finest and as for the old mine, I didn't even know it existed until this very same date (Juky 9, 2003). There are a number of buildings at this site that have already grown over with trees and brush. Most buildings have crumpled up to a heap of broken lumber. I heard this site was abandon in the early 1900's. Found on the way to Nistowiak Falls, if you choose to visit it be sure to watch your step, I am sure I was standing on cement that was very hallow!! Not too sure what kind of mine it was. If anyone knows more information about the history of the mine and what it was called, please e-mail me.
